Detroit Media Project
Engage Michigan started an initiative to equip community social justice groups with training around communication and media. This initiative is called the Detroit Media Project.
The Detroit Media Project (DMP) aims to provide training to social justice groups ranging from citywide organizations to neighborhood block clubs. The goal is to have a network of groups equipped and knowledgeable around what it takes to get and keep their narrative in the media. With this goal, groups will be able to ensure that traditional media accurately conveys information about their issues and groups will have the tools to create their own media. The project consists on three stages: assessment, training, and on-going support.
If your group would like to get involved with the DMP, send us an email!
